Baked or Fried Bread Cones: Which Should You Make?

You can prepare bread cones with cheesy filling in the oven or fry them. Both begin with flattened bread slices shaped into cones and filled with a cheese and vegetable mixture.

For the baked version, brush the outside lightly with melted butter or oil and place the cones securely on a tray. Bake until the bread is golden and the filling is hot. This method uses less oil and is convenient when making several portions together.

For a deeper crunch, fry the cones in batches over medium heat. Seal the bread edges firmly and avoid overfilling so the cheese stays inside. Drain the cooked cones well before serving.

Chilli flakes add heat, while pizza seasoning gives the filling a herby flavour. Serve either version hot with ketchup or chutney. Find the ingredient amounts and cooking instructions in this baked and fried bread cones recipe.
